Typical Paper Charts:
Most patient charts are thin, 10-20 pages, and often are purposely sketchy. Charts detailing psychopharmacologic treatment may be thick. Patients may be seen continuously for years.
Some patients return after intervals of several years, or even decades. Some psychiatrists prefer to store records indefinitely, while others destroy records as soon as the law allows. |
 |
Put PCARCHIVER to use:
Scan records of inactive or deceased patients, and remove old records from the office. In a psychoanalytic practice, only records of patients in active treatment need be kept in the office. If a former patient returns, print the old record and make a new active chart.
