Typical Paper Charts:
Patient charts in pediatrics cannot be destroyed until the age of majority plus an additional number of years defined by each state. Most states require at least 2 years after majority or 5-10 years after the last DOS, whichever is longer. Charts tend to be 10-20 pages, with some much thicker. After patients reach adulthood, they rarely ask pediatricians for old records, except for immunization records.

Put PCARCHIVER to use:
Scan charts of patients who grow out of the pediatric age group, or who have not been seen for a defined period of time. A barcode version is available to partition charts.
Condense thick charts by scanning and shredding older portions of the record. Scanned records can easily be shared between multiple offices. Scanning records provides backup and eliminates paper storage costs and retrieval. |
